This local gem is just a few blocks away from all the tourist traps. The staff was very welcoming, also in English, and the steak tartare was one of the best we had in ages! Edit: we went back a week ago and were not disappointed! Same great food and our host Amelie made sure everyone was feeling at home, even during busy lunch time. Still highly recommended!

Intanto siamo nella zona proprio a ridosso di Montmartre, quindi dopocena in 10 minuti salire a vedere Parigi non ha prezzo. Ma il meglio è nel ristorante: un'atmosfera molto accogliente e direi tipicamente "parigina" (pochi posti, illuminazione soft ,arredamento con gusto) accompagnato da una cordialità dello staff e dalla qualità delle pietanze offerte. Noi abbiamo optato per carne provando sia la tartare (molto bella come viene presentata e veramente battuta al coltello) sia il filetto di manzo grigliato (che si scioglieva in bocca). Consigliatissimo come posto cena. Quando ritorneremo a Parigi sarà una tappa obbligata!

Our first meal in Paris was at Bistro l'Olivier and they did not disappoint. We were able to make same day reservations online. First, thank you for the amazingly kind staff who put up with my terrible French. Whoever said Parisiens are unkind and rude, needs to come here to be proven wrong. The young woman with the glasses continued to patiently speak to me in French so I can practice and switch to English when speaking to my husband. It made our experience such an enjoyable one. The service, food and wine recommended was top notch! We ordered the escargot, beef tartare, scallops risotto and steak frites. Every single dish was phenomenal, so much so, we didn't remember to take all the photos. It was the best scallops and tartare we've had in Paris. I'm heartbroken we forgot to ask to take photos of the amazing red wine she recommended, i'm still dreaming of it (we had 2 glasses, and wanted more but had gotten too full at the end). We were heartbroken we didn't have room for desserts 😭The atmosphere was lovely, and it seemed like a loved local spot as we were the only 2nd party that was not French. The restaurant is small and intimate, the food is off the charts. We 10000% will come back here whenever we visit Paris. Merci beaucoup, Bistro l'Olivier!

The food and atmosphere here is great. It's a small place but the staff is just so friendly even though they have to work so hard and squeeze between the guests. Food was delicious, fun starters to share, great stead and amazing dessert!
